Asset Management
Oxford Electrical has developed an asset management system to detail all rotating equipment on-site.
Oxford Electrical has developed an asset management system to detail all rotating equipment on-site. From manufacturers to power, speed and mounting to cable entry location and shaft sizes – all information we need is collated and entered onto our web-based management system. Following the same exercise detailing all the stores and stock units, we are able to create a usable database to highlight spare shortfalls and subsequent criticality list.
Now fully informed, we are able to identify, assess and mitigate against risks directly affecting operations and associated costs incurred due to emergency based repairs.
Monitoring
At the heart of our service is our focus on predictive maintenance. With engineers qualified and operating throughout the oil and gas sector – we aim at total site awareness through all aspects of Condition Based Monitoring. Through this attention to detail in all aspects of our service we are able to reduce repair expenditure whilst increasing plant availability.
Fixed Cost Management
- Organisational and operational risk assessment
- Operational and stock items criticalised, both with regard to replacement cost and failure implication to production
- Failure incident investigation and root cause analysis — identify and implement improvement
- All audit data implemented to on-line management tool. Stock and spare realisation and location identified
- Condition monitoring program initiated and implemented, program to include all rotating equipment and is in accordance with operational running temperatures, frequency and atmospheric intake
- Repairs to be carried out — best practice ensures quality and reliability. Spare units identified, cleaned, inspected and stored correctly.
Audit
We develop and carry out a comprehensive audit program that contributes to the operational production function. By detailing and creating a production and stored database of engineering equipment, we can evaluate stock costs, coverage and availability.
Risk Management
We help to identify, assess and mitigate the risks of potential failure to specific rotating equipment. By pre-empting potential failures we can determine the most positive course of action, whether to repair or replace in collaboration with potential losses to production and downtime costs.
These risk services are identified and managed by:
- Organisational and operational risk assessment
- Failure analysis combined with root cause
- ‘Engineer Out’ potential future failures or unnecessary risks
- Monthly VA & CM program provides realtime provisions and static improvement highlighting potential failures
- Identification of corrective action and techniques, implementation of lubrication and fit-for-purpose programs
- Implementing stock rationalisation program
- Trend analysis
- Quarterly financial evaluation and cost reporting
Added Value
By identifying and initiating corrective procedures for potential failures, we then look to improve aspects to production. Following and ascertaining to out trend analysis, we can determine repetition faults — such as ingress, heat etc. From identifying these trends we can incorporate additional protection to the future repairs — such as improved seal arrangements or higher temperature lubrication. This assists in reducing failures – subsequently increasing plant availability and production profitability.
